About Us
Global Hatikvah is an initiative to unite the Jewish community and friends of Israel around the world through the unique power of music. During this time of uncertainty and isolation, music has the ability to connect, to soothe, and to inspire. Participants from around the world will submit videos of themselves singing “Hatikvah,” the Israeli National Anthem, in a show of solidarity and allyship.
“Hatikvah” translates to “the hope,” and is an anthem celebrating nationhood and all that Israel means as a place of safety and strength to Jews across the world. Each one of the submitted videos will be combined into a single virtual choir performing alongside the Israel Philharmonic, showcasing thousands of voices united in song in support of Israel.
Global Hatikvah is a collaborative project with the Israel Philharmonic (IPO), the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic (AFIPO), and the Canadian Friends of the Israel Philharmonic (CFIPO).
