Music heals.
Music inspires.
Music unites.

Together in song with the Israel Philharmonic

An initiative of the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic, Global Hatikvah was created at a time of profound global uncertainty to unite the Jewish community and friends of Israel around the world through the unique power of music.

A new arrangement of Hatikvah, the Israeli national anthem, was written by American composer Maxwell Karmazyn and performed by the Israel Philharmonic, the Israeli Defense Forces Band, and a global virtual choir of thousands.

Participants from around the world, using an application specially designed for our initiative, submitted videos of themselves singing along to the new arrangement which were then married with the orchestral recording to produce the video you see here. Enjoy.

As we go through an era
of war, division and global uncertainty,
I hope that this message of peace and unity
  will be the one prevailing.

— Jonathan Gertner,
viola player and
orchestra manager
